I think over the years Christmas has gotten warped...
It started to celebrate Jesus' birthday and somehow it got to the point where its all about us. This ruins Christmas for me in so many ways. For example, It stresses us out...This is the only birthday of the year that we make present list for ourselves! I have a theory that although he didn't do it in the right way, perhaps the Grinch had the right idea when he stole everyone's presents??
