Never Too Old

For a Bad Day

I find these photo's rather comforting.

Sometimes I get so anxious.
I think about all the things I want to do
all the words I want to say
and all the people I want to meet.
I have a hard time making my daydreams reality
and I fear that I always will.
This life is so great and we have so many choices
we can make on a daily basis.
My life can be as fulfilling as I want it to be
And sometimes I forget that it won't just happen
I have to make it happen.
I can make anything happen.

Squish Our Fruits

I've always thought life was just a big production when I was a kid. I thought one day we would all realize everyone was just a part of a big play. This Video makes me think about that again.
This puts my swans to shame...

Shel

Good old Shel Silverstein never lets me down. He has a way of putting the biggest message into such simple poems.

Put Something In
`Draw a crazy picture,
Write a nutty poem,
Sing a mumble-grumble song,
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance
'Cross the kitchen floor,
Put something silly in the world
That ain't been there before.

Reflection
`Each time I see the Upside-Down Man
Standing in the water,
I look at him and start to laugh,
Although I shouldn't oughtter.
For maybe in another world
Another time
Another town,
Maybe HE is right side up
And I am upside down.

Can't Wait!

Only 25 more days until I'm sunbathing my life away here

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

To live here with you
In great mahogany rooms
And dance halls
With bear claw tubs
Lined with candles and soaps
And filled with you and I.
To live here with you
fresh fruit and coffee
to open our sleepy eyes
To live here with you
And to catch your glance
As the sun finds our shadows
Exposing them now
Across the courtyard.

I'm loving these beautiful, soft photos from LI HUI

Thanksgiving

This year my family and I took off to Fargo, ND to have thanksgiving with our relatives. Things got a little hectic due to a faulty turkey fryer, but all in all it was a wonderful time. I'm so thankful I have a great family to spend holiday's with.

Ways of Seeing

Woolley Pocket

Woolly pockets are pockets you can form and use for any type of plant. They can be put basically anywhere and in anyway. Not only is the pocket waterproof and holds in water longer, but its made from Recycled bottles. Pretty swell.

Funny fantasies are never so real as old style romances
Where the hero has a heroine who has
Long black braids and lets
Nobody
Kiss her ever
And everybody’s trying all the time to
Run away with her
And the hero is always drawing his
(sic) sword and
Tilting at gin mills and
Forever telling her he
Loves her and has only honorable intentions and
Honorable mentions
And no one ever beats him at
Anything
But then finally one day
She who has always been so timid
Offs with her glove and says
(though not in so many big words)
Let’s lie down somewhere s
Baby

One of my favorite photographers is Jean-Baptiste Mondino. He has such a brilliant mind & a beautiful way of showing it. Here are some of my favorite photos he's shot.

Jean also has directed music videos and is even said to have directed the first one. Here is a commercial of his from 1987

Why don't we

Why don't we take more drastic measures?
do more outside
go more places
make more changes
talk to each other more
share our belongings
play more music
tell the truth
You leave a trail behind you
Like nothing I’ve ever seen
And you think you’ve never made a difference

The way I see it is that you think too much
I can almost hear your brainwaves
Crashing into each other

And if only you could remember
All the things you did that year
All of the music and dancing and people

I think you could finally be happy
With what is around you
And what you are doing.

Beach & a Bike Ride

This weekend the weather was nice enough to take a little trip to the beach.
